Liverpool legend says Everton youngster 'moves like a top player'

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Mason Holgate have been singled out for praise by a Liverpool legend.

Writing in the Sunday Times today, Graeme Souness has picked out his top prospects from each Premier League club.

But when it came to the Blues, Souness said he wanted to choose two - top scorer Calvert-Lewin and defender Holgate.

Both were enjoying stand-out seasons until the Premier League was suspended in March and Souness says they are the Everton prospects he will be keeping an eye on when football returns.

Souness wrote : "I’ve pushed it to pick two prospects from Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

"Calvert-Lewin looks and moves like a top footballer.

"He’s a wonderful athlete, it’s just whether he develops that cuteness and sixth sense to be in the right place at the right time.

"I’m also interested to see where Holgate ends up playing. He can read the game, is good on the ball and can play midfield, full back or centre back.

"Steve Nicol, my former Liverpool team-mate, was wonderful in every position he played."
