Liverpool legend John Barnes makes Jadon Sancho future transfer claim

Liverpool legend John Barnes has been speaking about the future of Jadon Sancho amid repeated transfer rumours surrounding the player’s future.

The Borussia Dortmund forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this season, with Liverpool being credited with speculative interest.

Manchester United have also been heavily linked with the England international, who is thought to be valued around £108m (€120m) by the Bundesliga club.

Earlier this week, Dortmund chief Michael Zorc categorically ruled out any chance of Sancho leaving Signal Iduna Park this summer.

And now Barnes says that another year at Dortmund would benefit the Liverpool-linked forward.

“I don’t think one more year's experience in Germany will hurt him at all,” Barnes told BonusCodeBets.co.uk.

“It’ll give him a chance to show that he can perform consistently.

“If he has another good season then Manchester United will probably pay the money for him next year, as he’s still young enough.

“If he doesn’t have another good season, would he have had been good enough for Manchester United anyway? So, having another year to play and grow in Germany, with less pressure, is not a bad thing.

“Being upset that he didn’t go to Manchester United and wallowing in a bad attitude would not be the right thing for him to do now.

“He should knuckle down and prove to the world that he is worth the €120 million.”
