Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher to team up with Gary Neville to raise funds for Merseyside football

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher will celebrate the 10th anniversary of his charity later this year alongside long-time sparring partner Gary Neville.

The iconic former Reds centre-back launched his Carragher 23 Foundation in 2009 with the charity set up to help disadvantaged young people on Merseyside through education and sport.

And to mark the Foundation's 10th year, Carragher will take part in a Q&A session alongside his fellow Sky Sports presenter Neville.

Carragher has enjoyed something of a friendly rivalry with the former Manchester United defender since moving into the Sky studio after retiring from football over six years ago.

The duo have carved out reputations as two of the most well-respected football voices during their time on Sky and their razor-sharp analysis has become essential viewing for fans across the country.

And the two former rivals will now team up alongside host Paddy McGuinness at a gala dinner to help raise funds for grassroots football across the Merseyside region.

The prestigious event black-tie event, which will take pace at the Rum Warehouse at Stanley Dock on Friday November 15, is being supported by the Premier League.

The Steve Morgan Foundation and local businesses including Signature Living, Crossfield, Everkool and YPG Developments are also sponsoring the event.

Carragher retired from football after 737 games for Liverpool in May 2013 after his 17-year career with the Reds helped them to three League Cups, two FA Cups, the Champions League and UEFA Cup.
