Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher sends perfect message to Chelsea after West Brom defensive horror show

Liverpool favourite Jamie Carragher couldn't resist a dig at Chelsea following their horrific first-half performance against West Brom on Saturday.

Having splashed over £200m in the transfer market this summer, the Blues were expected to easily sweep aside Slaven Bilic's side - who had lost their last three matches across all competitions.

However, a poor header from Marcos Alonso was capitalised on by Antonee Robinson, who burst through to open the scoring, with the forward then taking advantage of an error from Thiago Silva.

Lapse defending from a corner then saw the hosts extend their advantage to three goals, with Kyle Bartley tucking home with ease.

Carragher would respond to West Brom's second goal, which came after Silva's mistake - reminding them on Twitter of their frequent digs at Steven Gerrard for a similar slip in 2014.

"Exactly the same type of goal you tweet about every season!" He posted, sharing Chelsea's tweet that read 'Goal for West Brom. Robinson again."

Lampard's men would eventually come back to snatch a point but will be frustrated with their defending once again.

Liverpool beat Chelsea last weekend with two goals from Sadio Mane.
