Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has criticised the form of goalkeeper Alisson after a slow start to the 2020/21 Premier League season.
The Reds started the campaign with a 4-3 win over Leeds United last weekend and Carragher feels that performance summed how much his former club have struggled defensively in recent months.
Carragher believes the club's issues stretch to the back end of last season earlier this summer and he feels that Alisson has looked more like Simon Mignolet of late than the best goalkeeper in the world.
Ahead of Liverpool's clash with Chelsea in the Premier League, Carragher offered up this damning assessment of Alisson and Liverpool's defence.
He told Sky Sports: “It’s a big concern. Basically, Liverpool over the last 12 games have had Mignolet back in goal.
"That’s what it is, that’s what it’s gone back to. When Liverpool had problems beforehand, before Alisson came in, Alisson in this moment is not making the saves he should be doing.
"Whether that’s just a blip and he’ll get back to normal, I don’t wanna get too carried away, but it’s certainly a slight worry coming here.
"It is something that needs sorting out pretty quickly."
