Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher reminds Gary Neville of awful Paul Pogba and 2021 Manchester United prediction

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher mocked Gary Neville after the former Manchester United and England defender said Paul Pogba was his player to watch in 2021.

United midfielder Pogba is currently out injured and last played for Liverpool's Premier League rivals against the Reds, in which he was sent off 15 minutes after coming on the pitch with his side 5-0 down at Old Trafford.

The French World Cup-winner has failed to impress in his five years at the club and though he has had brief moments of brilliance, the majority of his time in Manchester has been a disappointment.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football show in December 2020, and posted on their Instagram account on Tuesday afternoon, pundit Neville said: "I didn't even fill that in by the way. I've said it for the last three years. "Carragher interjects by saying: "He says this every year."

Neville went on to say: "I've said it for the last three years as I still want him to drive Manchester United forward and be the player that he can be at the club and drive them towards the title, at that sounds laughable at the time.

While Neville was talking, Carragher stuck his head in front of the camera and makes a funny face and replies "it is" when Neville said that it sounded laughable.

"But that's what I'd like to see him do," Neville continued. "But I didn't actually pick him on that list, someone's messed around with that."

Pogba went on to help United finish second in the table but could be leaving United at the end of the season due to his contract expiring in the summer of 2022.
