Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher provides perfect comeback to Gary Neville's Barcelona trolling attempt

Liverpool suffered a huge blow on Wednesday evening as they lost 3-0 at Barcelona in their Champions League semi-final first leg tie at the Camp Nou.

The Reds dominated possession for the most part and had a fair few chances to get back into the game after Luis Suarez's strike in the first half.

But Lionel Messi added a quickfire double in the second period to further embarrass Liverpool, with the hosts even missing some opportunities to completely end the tie.

This handed a great opportunity to fans and pundits looking to troll Liverpool and Sky Sports commentator and Manchester United legend Gary Neville took that chance.

Neville tagged Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher on Twitter and posted a shrug emoji in what seemed to be a perfect trolling of the Reds, but Carragher provided an incredible response by referring to Neville's 7-0 loss to Barcelona when he was the manager of Valencia back in 2016.

It won't make Liverpool fans feel better about the result but it's fair to say it was great banter from Carragher.
