Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher compares Manchester United attacking trio to Liverpool and names one problem

Jamie Carragher believes Manchester United’s front three can be as good as Liverpool’s on their day.

Liverpool’s attackers have been in fine form so far this season, helping their side to the top of the Premier League table in the process.

The Reds’ attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino were also instrumental in helping Jurgen Klopp’s side to collect a record number of points in the Premier League last season and claim their sixth European Cup .

But Carragher, speaking on Monday Night Football alongside former Reds boss Rafa Benitez, believes United’s front three of Daniel James, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial can be good as Liverpool’s.

He said: “When United’s front three run forward and are playing like that, they are as good as the City three or the Liverpool three, they’re just not consistent enough and that is the problem. But at the weekend they were out of this world.”

Liverpool have scored 40 goals in the Premier League this season, 15 more then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, with 22 points currently separating the two sides.
