Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher causes stir after naming 10 best players

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has got involved with his own NFL Draft, but with a slight twist.

The former Reds defender is never shy to give his on social media, and his latest post has caused a stir among supporters.

Carragher has listed his top 10 players from world football that he would select to play for the next five years.

His list includes three Liverpool players, but some fans had a few questions over his choices.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe tops the list, with the France international also being tentatively linked with a transfer to Liverpool this season.

Second comes Virgil van Dijk, with the Reds star ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland, Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

Kevin De Bruyne comes up next in Carragher’s list, ahead of Liverpool duo Alisson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Marcus Rashford of Manchester United and Frenkie De Jong of Barcelona make up the remaining spots in Carragher’s top 10 list.

Many Liverpool fans reacted to Carragher’s list, asking why Reds duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah did not feature.

Unbearable Reds: "Sadio mane surely, Carra."

Phil Megrath: "No @MoSalah Jamie? Two golden boots in past seasons, serious disrespect there."

Aamir Zulfi: "Sterling?? Wow! Over Mane and Salah."

Darren Turner: "How Salah isn’t in there at 27 is beyond me?"

Imran Khan: "Mane or Salah for Rashford. They are aged around 27/28. Got 5 great years in them yet."
