Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher beats Usain Bolt in sprint during Soccer Aid

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher starred at this year’s Soccer Aid, and certainly caught the eye.

The former Reds centre-back was taking part in the yearly charity event at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium between England and a Rest of the World XI on Saturday evening.

Carragher was starring alongside Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville and several other world football stars and celebrities.

The 43-year-old was up against Olympic gold medal-winning sprinter Usain Bolt who played the first half for the Rest of the World XI.

Bolt spent the majority of his appearance as a striker, which meant he and Carragher battled for possession on several occasions.

One certainly caught the eye, with a long ball leading to a foot race between the pair, and it was the former Liverpool defender who triumphed.

A ball was punted towards Bolt, who quickly sprang into action. But Carragher sussed out the danger, though, and intercepted the attempted pass.

Another instance in the game saw Carragher tackle Bolt and give away a free-kick, which led to World XI star and former AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf to express his disapproval.

The match was being played in aid of the UNICEF charity, and was the 10th year of the event.
