Liverpool kit change on horizon as 'headache' strip worn for final time against West Ham

Liverpool will wear their white away kit for the final time this season when they take on West Ham United at the London Stadium on Wednesday night.

Supporters who are superstitious have a good reason to be pessimistic about Liverpool's trip to the capital as they are yet to pick up three points wearing the 90s-inspired shirt.

Jurgen Klopp's side last wore this kit when they lost 1-0 at Bournemouth in March, with Mohamed Salah even missing a penalty to salvage a point.

Liverpool have played five times this season wearing the white shirt. They won none of those games, losing four and drawing one, and scoring three goals and conceding seven.

The Reds were first beaten in the kit at Old Trafford as Manchester United ran out 2-1 winners early in the season. That was followed by a 3-2 loss at Arsenal, a 1-0 reverse at Nottingham Forest and then 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.

One fan labelled the strip as the "headache kit" ahead of the West Ham match on Wednesday night: "The headache kit in the headache season."

Another supporter was trying to be optimistic ahead of the game: "Maybe our luck will change tonight."

Another fan has already decided the outcome of the match after hearing of the kit Liverpool will be wearing: "No win tonight then and no goals."

One supporter even made a request over what strip the Reds will wear: "Why can't we wear the green one?"
