Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on the change VAR has forced him to make

Jurgen Klopp claims he no longer instantly celebrates goals after VAR caused yet more controversy at Anfield.

Liverpool won 2-0 against Watford on Saturday to continue their impressive start to the season as Premier League leaders.

However, there was controversy five minutes after half-time when Sadio Mane scored with a header only for the strike to be ruled out after a VAR check.

Replays indicated the decision was borderline, with VAR then prompting a farcical end to the game when, after Mohamed Salah's second goal in the 90th minute, there was another lengthy check despite it being a clearly legitimate goal.

And of the decision to chalk off Mane's strike, Klopp said: “I didn’t see it, when you win 2-0 you don't think about it too much.

“I have no clue if he was offside.

“But I don’t celebrate goals anymore, I just wait until someone says it is a goal.

“If Sadio was offside, I couldn’t see. I haven't seen it back, so no idea.”
