Liverpool joined by teenage prospect in training ahead of flying out to play Atletico Madrid

Liverpool are faced with no new injury concerns ahead of their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

The players were put through their paces at Melwood on Monday morning before they fly out to Madrid to get ready for their last-16 match against Diego Simeone’s men.

On the short-term injury list only Xherdan Shaqiri remains unavailable and did not take part in the session.

However, 18-year-old midfielder Luis Longstaff joined in with the warm-up and continued with the first-team players as they completed passing drills.

Jurgen Klopp watched on as Pep Lijnders led the passing session and delivered instructions to the squad while Peter Kraweitz and Vitor Matos were also present.

The Reds players seemed in great spirits while they were getting warmed up with the likes of Roberto Firmino and Fabinho sharing a smile while Naby Keita and Sadio Mane amused one another.

This is Liverpool’s second trip to the Spanish capital and the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in the space of eight months after they won the European Cup there back in June against Tottenham, so it certainly represents happy memories for everyone involved with the club.

The match kicks off at 8pm UK time tomorrow evening.
