Liverpool join hunt for Chelsea star wanted in Bundesliga, Bayern Munich ace hints at Arsenal switch - European transfer roundup

Reds ready for bidding war

Liverpool are preparing to rival the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the market for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Bild , as the teenager may still seek an exit from Stamford Bridge.

Called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the current international break, Hudson-Odoi has struggled to secure regular first-team chances with the Blues and was heavily linked with a move to Bayern in January.

Alaba may want out of Munich

Sticking with the Bundesliga theme, Bayern Munich full-back David Alaba has dropped a major hint opening the door for a future move to the Premier League to Bild - revealing he was an Arsenal fan growing up.

The 26-year-old remains first-choice left-back in Bavaria and has been an Austria international for the past decade, making his debut at the age of just 17. He is contracted with the club until 2021.

Higuain heading home?

In Spain, Marca report that Chelsea may not look to sign Juventus loanee Gonzalo Higuain on a permanent basis this summer and the Argentina international could return to Turin at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has scored three goals in the Premier League since moving to Stamford Bridge in January, having hit six league goals for AC Milan during the first half of the season.

Partey is just getting started

Marca also report a number of Premier League sides are interested in the services of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, who has a £43m release clause in his contract, although no specific names are mentioned.

Inter target Gomes

Everton could face difficulties securing the services of Barcelona loanee Andre Gomes permanently this summer as Sport reveals that Inter Milan are also keen on the Portugal international.

The 25-year-old has caught the eye during his spell at Goodison Park and may be one of the priorities for compatriot Marco Silva when the market reopens, although Inter’s interest presents an issue.

Barella to the Bridge

Finally in Italy, Sky Sport Italia hand Chelsea a potential problem in the transfer market as AC Milan are reported to have opened talks with Cagliari for 22-year-old midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, although their impending transfer ban will throw a spanner in the works.
