'Liverpool is the place to be' A new Irish bar is opening in the city centre after owner confesses to being huge LFC fan

A popular Irish bar is coming to Liverpool city centre after experiencing huge success in Manchester.

Mulligan's of Liverpool will be opening the doors of its new Wood Street venue on Friday, August 16 based inside the former Cellar 24.

After the success of its Manchester venue, owner Owen Mulligan and his staff were keen to open a new venue in a thriving city with a large Irish community and believed Liverpool to be the ideal location.

Sean O'Neill, co-director at Mulligan's, told the ECHO : "Our initial venue has been going really well so we wanted to open in a busy area with a large Irish community.

"The owner Owen Mulligan is a big Liverpool fan and supports LFC.

"We all agreed that Liverpool is the place to be."

On its Facebook page, Mulligan's of Liverpool describes itself as being an "Irish- themed public house in Liverpool welcoming all shapes & sizes for craic, ceol agus comhrá!"

The new bar can be found on Wood Street, on the corner of Concert Square and has undergone a major refurbishment to make sure it's ready for the hustle and bustle of one of Liverpool's busiest nightlife scenes.
