Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne and Dominic Solanke are set to miss Liverpool’s trip to Bournemouth on Saturday while Sadio Mane is unlikely to feature, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.
However, the German should be able to welcome Georginio Wijnaldum and Andy Robertson back into his squad as the Reds bid to go top of the Premier League with a win on the south coast.
Klopp this week lost centre-half Joe Gomez to a leg fracture picked up at Burnley but Lovren has been ruled out of replacing him this weekend, with Klopp saying: “He will not be available.
“He got a knock last week and got a concussion and is still not able to play, like Clyney [who] is out already two weeks or so.
“Nothing serious but he’s not in training so not available as well. Joe [Gomez] obviously, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rhian Brewster and Dom Solanke but Dom is close, I really hope that he will be in team training from Sunday on but we have to see.”
Mane and Wijnaldum joined Lovren in missing out on the midweek win Turf Moor, but the latter should be available to return, while his teammate is closing in on full fitness after sustaining a cut on his foot.
Klopp added: “Sadio is now out and tries to run first time, so that doesn’t sound like he will be ready for tomorrow.
“Hopefully he can finish the programme today we did for him. Gini is nothing, he did his own programme and is fine.”
Robertson is also ready to come back into the starting XI after receiving a well-earned rest on Wednesday evening.
The Scot has missed just three of Liverpool’s 21 fixtures so far this term, with Alberto Moreno taking his place on each occasion.
Klopp said: “He is fine. Robbo played pretty much most of the games in a very intense position so that’s why we decided to give him - what was it? - eight hours off.
“That was the only thing, he was not in Burnley but he trained in the morning and went home.
“I think he could watch the game - of course not - sitting in front of the radio or whatever and then he came back.”
