Dejan Lovren and James Milner have two days to prove their fitness if they are to feature for Liverpool against Burnley this weekend.
Lovren returned to training on Thursday having spent the last two months sidelined by a hamstring injury sustained during January’s FA Cup defeat to Wolves.
Milner, meanwhile, has been working with the club’s rehabilitation coach this week as he battles a minor muscle complaint.
However, Jurgen Klopp believes both men have a chance of making the squad for the visit of Sean Dyche’s side to Anfield on Sunday.
He said: “It’s a rather positive moment, it looks really good. Dejan trained yesterday [for the] first time completely normal.
“With Dejan, we have to see. Dejan was out for a while so we have to see how his fitness is exactly. He’s not injured, he’s fit, but how fit we have to see.
“Milly, we will have to see. It’s Milly, so everything heals quicker; he was already outside yesterday.
“He had a little bit with a muscle issue but still three days to go until the game and I think if you ask Milly he will say I will be ready.
“He trained yesterday with the rehab coach and we will see how he is today.”
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to step up his recovery from a serious knee issue with 45 minutes for the club’s U23s team on Friday afternoon.
Klopp also had further good news on the progress of his other long-term absentees, Joe Gomez and Rhian Brewster.
He added: “Joe is now running with 100 per cent of his weight, that’s good. Most of the things will be around after the international break, for example Joe.
“Rhian trained, looked really good, but he’s in a situation Ox was in maybe three weeks ago.”
Predicted XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Keita, Salah, Mane, Firmino.
