Liverpool injury, suspension list: Team news and predicted line-up vs Bayern Munich

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has major defensive troubles ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League last 16 clash with Bayern Munich at Anfield.

Star centre back Virgil Van Dijk is missing because of suspension, and with injury woes mounting, Klopp has a decision to make over who will partner Joel Matip at centre half.

Joe Gomez is a long-term absentee because of a broken ankle, with Dejan Lovren “not involved” in preparation for the game because of a hamstring injury, according to the Reds boss.

Fabinho looks the most likely candidate to fill the void, having returned to training after missing the first session of Liverpool’s camp in Marbella last week.

Better news for Reds fans is that it looks increasingly likely that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could feature again this season, with Klopp suggesting he might be fit for the Champions League semi-final were Liverpool to get there.

Xherdan Shaqiri is a slight doubt because of an abdominal injury.

Liverpool predicted XI (4-3-3): Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson, Milner, Keita, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane
