Liverpool injury, suspension list: Team news and predicted line-up vs Bayern

Jurgen Klopp will be without Naby Keita for the second leg of Liverpool’s Champions League last-16 clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

The Guinean did not participate in Tuesday morning’s training session at Melwood and has remained on Merseyside due to an injury that the club have described as ‘minor’.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was also absent from today’s session having felt a muscle issue during a truncated comeback from his serious knee injury for the U23s on Friday.

However, the Englishman would not have been considered for first-team involvement until after the upcoming international break regardless.

There was some good news on the injury front for Klopp ahead of a finely poised second leg in Munich.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was able to train after being withdrawn in the latter stages of last weekend’s 4-2 win over Burnley at Anfield.

On the defender’s fitness, Klopp told the club’s official website: “It looks good. He had a bit of a problem obviously but it should not be a major concern.

“We cannot judge the situation now, we have to wait this full day, tomorrow possibly the full day – we have two days and then we have a little, little session on Wednesday morning.

“If we know then, it’s good and then we’ll choose the team and play.”

James Milner also returned from the hamstring complaint that kept him out of the victory against the Clarets, though he and Dejan Lovren will be monitored in the build-up to tomorrow’s game.

That trio featured in a 21-man travelling party that included fit-again academy centre-back Nathaniel Phillips.

Predicted Liverpool line-up: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Milner, Salah, Mane, Firmino
