Liverpool Ice Festival returning with even bigger ice rink and Christmas market

The Liverpool Ice Festival is to return this year to its waterfront location at the Pier Head.

So far, few Christmas events have been announced due to the coronavirus pandemic, but tickets have now gone on sale for the popular ice festival.

It will open on Friday, November 13 and run until January 3, excluding Christmas Day.

People can go for a spin on the "biggest ever" ice rink, with penguin skate aids for little ones, and even more space to ensure people can stick to social distancing rules.

The festival also brings back the UK’s largest ice slide with three 30m runs, six metres above the park. From up there you will see across the Mersey and get a view of the entire Ice Festival before you slide your way down. For more thrills and spills there’s the Ice Jet ride, which features a sound and light show, funfair games and rides for the children.

There will also be a traditional Christmas market where you can tuck into something warm to take the chill off, with German bratwurst, crepes, mulled wine and hot chocolate.

“The safety of our guests is always paramount, so we’ve taken a host of measures to make the festival COVID-19 secure, and the increased rink size and staggered start times mean skaters will have a better experience than ever."

Opening times for the Liverpool Ice Festival are from midday until 9pm weekdays and 11am to 9pm weekends, with the last skate at 8pm each day. Tickets are from £13 for adults and from £11 for children, with family tickets available and group discounts.
