Temperatures are set to rocket to 28C today with brilliant sunshine all around the city.
Today will see blue sunny skies and soaring temperatures, making it the hottest day of the year so far.
By mid-afternoon a high of 28C is expected, while Ibiza is predicted to endure 27C.
And tomorrow is set to be even hotter, with highs of 30C forecast.
The Met Office weather forecast for the North West said: "A dry and very hot day is on the cards with ample amounts of sunshine on offer.
"A few high clouds may develop later but not enough to impede the sunshine.
"Sea breezes developing to make coastal locations slightly cooler. Maximum temperature 32C.
"Remaining dry and clear overnight, though the short nights preventing temperatures dropping very far.
"Feeling muggy in towns and cities. Minimum temperature 15C.
"Thursday will be another fine, hot and sunny morning and afternoon, though some cloud may approach from the west during the evening. Maximum temperature 31C."
Friday will also see sunshine, but there is a risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon, with temperatures due to drop to around 20 degrees by the weekend.
