Liverpool hotter than Athens and Madrid during Easter heatwave

After a chilly start to the week Liverpool is set to bask in glorious sunshine with temperatures eclipsing those in Athens and Madrid this Easter.

The mercury is going to rocket above 20C this weekend with Bank Holiday highs of 21C on Good Friday and Easter Saturday .

The sizzling temperatures will make Liverpool warmer than Athens which peaks at 16C and Madrid at 18C over the Easter Weekend.

A warmer weekend will be a welcome change from the colder weather caused by a Nordic vortex.

Today:

A little cold still but the sun will be out. It will be a dry day with a max temperature of 14C which might feel a bit cooler in the wind.

Tuesday:

Tuesday will be mostly grey and overcast. Many areas will stay dry with a maximum temperature 15C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

It will be dry, bright and breezy over the next few days. There will be sunny spells and it will turn warm or very warm by Friday.
