A significant milestone has been reached in the expansion of the Anfield Road stand at Liverpool FC's stadium as a 300-tonne roof truss has now successfully been lifted into place.
The construction work started in September 2021 and is expected to be finished for the start of the 2023-24 season.
The expansion of the Anfield Road end will allow 7,000 more fans to enter Anfield and add to the spinetingling atmosphere already felt at the home of the Reds.

Next season is the last that Liverpool will play in front of 54,000 fans at Anfield and, with 12 months remaining on the project, the roof truss being installed was a vital milestone that needed to be hit.
Preparation for the truss started in May as the two steel towers were built and the 60ft steel haunches were lifted into place last week ready for the truss to join them. The towers, haunches and truss are connected by a total of 25,000 bolts.
Paul Cuttill, VP of Stadium Operations at Liverpool Football Club, said: “We are delighted to see the roof truss lifted into place. This is one of the most challenging and complicated parts of the build. There has been a lot of planning involved and it took a few goes to get started due to the complexity of the lift.
“It’s a historical moment for the stadium and the club and a fantastic achievement. Huge thanks to the incredible team from our stadium and contractors to get this in place in record breaking temperatures.”
