Liverpool hero Robbie Fowler has aimed a cheeky dig at Manchester United on social media after they were dumped out of the Europa League by Sevilla on Thursday night.
With a spot in the last-four at stake, United were routinely swept aside in Spain as they lost their second leg 3-0 after the Old Trafford opener between the sides ended in a draw. And with that goes their chance to win the treble under Erik ten Hag this season.
Ten Hag and his players ended their trophy hoodoo by picking up the Carabao Cup and United have made it through to the FA Cup semi-finals. However, crashing out of Europe, in such devastating fashion, has opened the door for Fowler to take aim on Twitter.

Of course, when Fowler was still lacing up his boots, Liverpool won both domestic knockout competitions in 2001 while adding in a Europa League (then called the UEFA Cup) medal for good measure. It came two years after United won their own treble with the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
Cynics among the United fanbase continue to refer to Liverpool's achievement as a "Mickey Mouse" treble.
However, after going short in their own quest for such honours this campaign, Fowler spotted an open goal - the sort he would have lapped up as a player - and promptly tapped home with a cutting three-word verdict on his Twitter profile.
Uploading an image of him posing with the 2001 silverware haul, Fowler captioned his picture "Mickey Mouse treble" and added a laughing face emoji for good measure. Naturally, it went down a storm with the Liverpool supporters who continue to idolise him.
