Liverpool have suffered a bigger loss than Virgil van Dijk or Diogo Jota

Liverpool have dropped an average of almost one point per game since the Premier League lockdown in March.

The Reds romped to the Premier League title last season, losing just once, against Watford, in their opening 29 matches.

Manchester United were the only other team to take a point off Jurgen Klopp's side as they won 27 out of their opening 29, effectively winning the league by March.

With an average of 2.83 points per game, sustaining that level of consistency was always going to be tough for any team.

However, since the Premier League restarted in June, Liverpool have averaged just 1.78 points per game, picking up 31 less points.

Now, Liverpool's injuries in defence have contributed to their downturn in form, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip missing large portions of those 28 games.

It's also worth factoring in Liverpool's form after the title was confirmed following lockdown, which contributed to a 2-1 defeat against Arsenal, in particular.

Still, in 28 games behind closed doors, compared to Liverpool's previous 29 games, the records are stark.

Liverpool have only won 14 of their 28 games, drawing eight and losing five. That is compared to 27 wins, one draw and one defeat from 29 matches.

The Reds have conceded 13 more times in one less match, which is understandable without their first-choice defensive pairing, but have also scored 10 fewer goals.

Liverpool post-lockdown
