Liverpool handed Thiago boost, Arsenal dealt Smalling blow - Premier League transfer rumours

Leeds United fans are no doubt keeping an eye on the rest of the Premier League as they await their first season back in the top flight.

The Whites are yet to make a major move in the summer transfer market but they have become part of the large rumour mill that engulfs the Premier League.

Here are the latest rumours from around the Premier League.

Thiago wants Liverpool move

German outlet Kicker report that Thiago wants to join Liverpool from Bayern Munich, with the Bundesliga champions accepting that the Spaniard wants to leave.

Yet Bayern Munich’s asking price means Liverpool would have to sell players to generate transfer funds, with Naby Keita named as one of the at-risk players at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen to bring the 29-year-old midfielder to Liverpool.

Yet doubts remain over his age, injury record and how he would fit into the Reds’ system.

Roma revive Smalling interest

Calciomercato report that Roma are set to revive their interest in Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.

Smalling joined the Serie A club on loan last summer and impressed throughout the season.

Yet a deal over an extension could not be reached, meaning he returned to England before Roma’s Europa League campaign.

Smalling, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks, is keen to remain in Rome and, after the club was sold by former owner James Pallota, their interest in the player has been given a large boost.

Lazio confident of Silva deal

Sky Sports claim Lazio are increasingly confident of agreeing a deal to sign David Silva.

The midfielder will leave Manchester City after 10 seasons at the club once their Champions League campaign comes to an end.

Negotiations had been proving difficult but a breakthrough has been made, leaving the Italian club confident that a deal can be reached.
