Liverpool handed major injury boost ahead of crucial Champions League decider in Salzburg

Dejan Lovren has handed Liverpool a huge boost after the defender took part in training on Monday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp’s side led his side out for one final training session ahead of theirs trip to Austria where they will take on RB Salzburg in the crucial Champions League Group E decider.

Lovren, who limped off during Liverpool’s 3-0 at Bournemouth , took part in the session at Melwood. This will hand Klopp a boost with Joel Matip currently sidelined.

Adam Lallana emerged earlier than the rest of his team-mates to train on his own. The Liverpool midfielder was absent from the squad who won at Bournemouth on Saturday alongside Gini Wijnaldum. But the Dutchman looks to have made a full recovery from his weekend complaint as he joined the rest of the squad.

On the back of making his Premier League debut on Saturday, Curtis Jones was also involved alongside Academy starlets Harvey Elliott, Neco Williams, Sepp van den Berg and Ki-Jana Hoever.

Rhian Brewster, who has become a first team training ground regular, did not take part in the session.

Ben Woodburn was also spotted doing laps of the pitches at Melwood, the Welsh international returned from a loan spell with Oxford United to continue his rehabilitation from the injury he suffered in October.
