Liverpool handed injury worry ahead of West Ham after tunnel footage of Mohamed Salah emerges

Mohamed Salah has given Liverpool a fresh injury worry for their clash against West Ham at the weekend.

The attacker was forced to limp down the tunnel after their Champions League win over Midtjylland on Tuesday night after coming off the bench to help his side pick up three points.

The Egyptian star came on shortly after Diogo Jota's opening goal around the hour mark, and made an impact on the scoreline.

The 28-year-old broke through in stoppage time but was brought down for a penalty, which he converted to give Jurgen Klopp's side a 2-0 victory.

There appeared to be minimal contact between Salah and Midtjylland defender Paulinho in the incident, but BT Sport cameras showed the Liverpool star limping down the tunnel after the match had finished.

Losing Salah for the clash against West Ham would be the second blow for the Reds after Fabinho left the pitch with a muscle injury after just half an hour.

Fabinho was already deputising at centre-back for the injured Virgil van Dijk, who is likely to miss a large portion of the season.

And while Klopp made no comment on Salah's problem after the game, he admitted that they would have to wait and see over the Brazilian's fitness - and Joel Matip may not be ready to make his comeback from injury just yet either.

"Fab, I don’t know," Klopp told reporters. "Muscle injuries are like this, you get the result tomorrow morning probably, we have to wait for that. I don’t know [about Matip], we have to see.

"Look, if it would be only one game we play, if it was the last game of the season, I think we could make probably one or the other fit for one game – but we play three days later again and we need players again.

"The players who are now injured, we cannot use them on the first day of being fit again – or not injured anymore. They need a proper build-up for the rest of the season and that’s what we try.

"It is this juggle all the time between the fit players – how much can they play still? – and when we can use the others again?

"We are really interested in that fact so you can imagine we try everything to make everybody fit as quickly as possible."
