Liverpool handed huge double injury blow ahead of Tottenham clash

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the Reds will be without James Milner and Naby Keita for the trip to face Tottenham in the Premier League this weekend.

Both players had been considered doubts for the game with muscle injuries, with Milner going off injured against Everton in the FA Cup third round tie last weekend.

And Klopp has now confirmed that they have not recovered in time, and will miss the game against Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

"James [Milner] and Naby [Keita] are not unavailable. Both are muscle injuries, different, and they are different people," Klopp said, speaking at his pre-match press conference .

"We will see how quick it will be. We don’t have to put a timeframe on it.

"We are open to when they want to join us again, when the medical team gives them the green light.

"Not for this weekend, not for next week. then we will see."

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also still without defenders Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Nathaniel Clyne for the game, while midfielder Fabinho is also set to miss out again with an ankle injury.

Klopp has, however, confirmed that Xherdan Shaqiri is now training normally again, after missing the FA Cup clash with a thigh injury.
