Liverpool's Champions League final boost after UEFA decision

Liverpool will have the luxurious home dressing room for the Champions League final against Tottenham in Madrid this evening.

Despite being nominated as the away team by UEFA for the final tonight, security reasons mean they benefit from the facilities usually afforded to Atletico.

The home dressing room in the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium is considerably bigger and plusher than the one that hosts visiting teams.

“Before we took our decision, we made an evaluation between the away fans, the Spanish police and the city of Madrid,” Wanda Metropolitano Stadium manager Fernado Fariza told Sky Sports News.

“We took into account the number of fans of both of the finalists, the metro lines and the fan meeting points in the city.

“Taking into account all these issues, the final decision was that Liverpool fans should arrive at the south stand and they will have all their tickets in the south stand.

“On the other hand, Tottenham supporters will arrive at the north stand and they will have all their tickets in the north stand.”

The capacity of the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium for the final has been set at 63,000 by UEFA. Liverpool and Tottenham have been allocated just 16,613 tickets each.
