Liverpool hand Chelsea a massive transfer boost in their pursuit for Lorenzo Insigne

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has handed Chelsea a transfer boost ahead of the summer after admitting his side won't be signing Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne.

Despite having a transfer ban handed to them by Fifa for the next two windows Maurizio Sarri and the backroom team at Stamford Bridge are still identifying potential new signings in case they are able to overturn or defer the ban.

Insigne is one of those players.

Arsenal legend explains why Callum Hudson-Odoi holds all the cards in Chelsea contract talks

He played under Sarri in Naples and the Italian seems to believe that the 27-year-old can help solve some of the problems that Chelsea have encountered this season in the Premier League.

With Eden Hazard seemingly on this way out of the club this summer, Chelsea will need to replace him if they are allowed to but will face competition from a number of clubs for several players on their hit list.

But Liverpool won't be one of those competing with Chelsea for Insigne's signature after Klopp admitted in his press conference on Thursday that they won't sign Insigne.

Klopp said: "We will not sign Lorenzo Insigne. He has got a long-term contract in Naples. He is a very good player but we will not be signing him.
