Liverpool great Jamie Carragher has delivered a withering assessment of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for his performance at Anfield last night.
In a transfer message to Chelsea during the contest at Liverpool, which ended 5-3 to the champions, Carragher insisted that they can only go so far with the inconsistent Spaniard in goal for them.
Kepa has struggled at times this season under Frank Lampard, with the Blues' boss even dropping the 25-year-old in February.
Chelsea have prepared for next season by signing the likes of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech and continue to be linked with Kai Havertz, but Carragher believes that the goalkeeping position is an issue as well.
Speaking during commentary of Liverpool vs Chelsea this evening, Carragher told Sky Sports: "Chelsea won't go any further unless they change the goalkeeper. Even centre-back as well.
"I know they’re buying a lot of attackers, but you see how many goals they concede. I think a lot of that is down to the goalkeeper, if I’m being totally honest."
Carragher also didn't hold back on the club's defensive options, with Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger struggling against Liverpool.
"I see a lot of centre-backs at Chelsea, without there being an outstanding one," he added.
"If they are to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City, they have to rectify that in the summer.”
