Manchester City have jumped above Liverpool in the title race and one former player feels that the Reds need a ‘miracle’ to win the Premier League .
The Blues cruised to a 2-0 win over Cardiff City on Wednesday evening thanks to goals from Kevin de Bruyne and Leroy Sane as Pep Guardiola’s men moved one point clear of Liverpool.
Both sides now have six games remaining each, with Liverpool the next to play on Friday when they travel to Southampton.
But former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise is of the belief that not only is the title Man City ’s lose, he doesn’t see a way that the reigning champions will drop any points.
While Riise believes Liverpool deserve to be in the mix, he says the only chance Liverpool have is relying on Manchester United to beat City on Wednesday, April 24 at Old Trafford.
“Now Liverpool deserve to be up there and have played some great football. We have won games this season that we would have normally lost,” Riise told beIN SPORTS .
“But City is so strong it would take a miracle to win the league because they are so strong. I cannot see them losing any more points. The one hope I have is (the) United (game).”
