Liverpool goalkeeper leaves on loan after signing long-term contract

Promising Liverpool goalkeeper Jakub Ojrzynski looks set to join Caernarfon Town on a season-long loan deal after signing a new long-term contract at Anfield.

Ojrzynski, 18, put pen to paper on fresh terms with the Reds this week just over a year on from signing his first professional deal.

The stopper, who joined the club from Legia Warsaw in 2019, has featured mostly for the under-18s but also made the step up to under-23s level last season.

Now, Ojrzynski is expected to continue his development in the Cymru Premier for the duration of the 2021/22 season.

Caernarfon announced his arrival on social media in a Twitter post which has since been deleted.

Ojrzynski played in Caernarfon’s friendly match against Holywell Town and the club said his move was subject to international clearance.

Ojrzynski also made his first appearance in a senior squad last term as Liverpool's injury crisis spread to the goalkeeping department.

With Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher both out of action, the Pole was named on the bench as the Reds claimed a 2-0 win at Sheffield United in February, although he is yet to make his first-team bow.

Caernarfon finished in sixth place in Welsh top-flight last season, earning qualification for the Europa Conference League play-offs.
