Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher on why he hates facing Mohamed Salah in training

Caoimhin Kelleher has admitted he hates facing Mohamed Salah in training but that coming up against Liverpool’s fabled front three every day is the best way to learn for a young goalkeeper.

The 22-year-old Irishman has doubled his appearance tally for Liverpool this season, playing four games so far to add to the four he made last term.

Kelleher’s outings this season have included his debuts in both the Champions League and Premier League with him keeping clean sheets against Ajax (1-0) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (4-0) respectively.

However, the Cork-born prospect admits that his toughest challenges are often against his own team-mates.

Answering 'assumptions' from fans on social media with Harry Pinero on YouTube channel UMM, Kelleher was asked if it was true that he hated facing Salah in training and replied: “I hate facing all the strikers. My confidence is getting killed every time I’m facing them!

“Obviously it’s the best training you can get. Probably the best three attackers in the world on a daily basis, it takes your game to another level. It’s class.

“They’re just so in sync and so in tune with each other, it’s unbelievable to watch.”
