Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson sends unusual message to Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has revealed he has been receiving tips on helping avoid coronavirus from Liverpool counterpart Alisson Becker.

Elite football across Europe and beyond has been suspended as the world deals with its biggest health crisis in a generation.

Ter Stegen, who was part of the Barcelona side beaten by Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final last season, has spoken to El Pais in Spain.

And he has explained how footballers can use their social media popularity for good while explaining some important tips he has received from Alisson.

“The good thing is that we have millions of followers,” said Ter Stegen. “With some well-chosen messages, we can help people.

“The other day I was talking to Alisson, who gave me advice on how to wash my hands.

“I have never thought about this before and now I have shared it on social networks. This can influence people and be useful to someone.”

Alisson and his wife Natalia, who is a doctor, have been goodwill ambassadors for health promotion for the World Health Organisation since last May.
