Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson sends strong message to fans after suffering injury against Norwich

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has vowed to return stronger after limping off the pitch against Norwich City.

The Reds kicked off their Premier League season in scintillating fashion with a 4-1 win over the Canaries but the result was marred when No.1 Alisson went down with injury in the first half.

The Brazil international hobbled off the field after declining a stretcher with the game at 3-0 and was replaced by new signing and debutant Adrian .

Jurgen Klopp confirmed after the game that Alisson would miss Liverpool's Super Cup final with Chelsea, which is set to take place on Wednesday.

But Alisson moved quickly to allay fears, writing on Twitter: “Thank you all for the messages!

“Will be back as soon as possible and stronger.”

Alisson pulled up  while taking a goal kick shortly before half-time in the match at Anfield on Friday night.

Liverpool will now wait to discover the extent of his calf injury.

Klopp, though, has no qualms over turning to Adrian despite the goalkeeper having not even been at Liverpool for a week.

“He's a very confident guy, and I don't think he wanted to sit only on the bench for the next couple of years,” said the Reds boss.

“He made himself ready.

“If you are in situation like this you want someone who has played in the league, is experienced, an at 32 is a calm guy, emotional as well, good with his feet as we saw and that's really important for us.

“A lot of good things, but you still we don't want a situation where only one goalkeeper is fit."
