Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson sends heartfelt message to Simon Mignolet as Belgian stars in Champions League win

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has shared a special message with former Reds shot-stopper Simon Mignolet.

The Belgium international completed the move to Club Brugge on Monday and made his first appearance on Tuesday in a Champions League qualifier.

Mignolet, who Jurgen Klopp praised for his professionalism as he spent the 2018/19 campaign acting as understudy to Alisson, spent six seasons at Anfield.

The Brazilian shared a picture of the pair clutching the Champions League trophy in Madrid and shared a touching message on Instagram.

Alisson wrote: "All the best for you my friend! Thanks for the great season that me made together!

"May God bless you and your family! Good luck."

Mignolet re-shared the post to his story on the photo-sharing app and wrote: "Thank you friend! Good luck."

The No.88 starred for the Belgian outfit in their 1-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in the first leg of the third qualifying round.

Following the match the 31-year-old led the Brugge fans in song by singing through a megaphone.
