Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson 'clearly' best in Premier League, says Arsenal stopper Bernd Leno

Arsenal star Bernd Leno believes Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is the best in his position in the Premier League, claiming: “He’s good at everything!”

Alisson’s arrival from Roma in the summer of 2018 has been key to Liverpool’s progress under Jurgen Klopp, with the Brazilian winning the Champions League in his first season at the club and on course to add the Premier League title in his second.

The league is blessed with a number of top class goalkeepers at present, including Alisson’s international teammate, Ederson of Man City. Manchester United stopper David De Gea was not long ago regarded as the world’s best, while Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga is the most expensive goalkeeper in history and Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris captained France to the World Cup in 2018.

However, in Leno’s opinion, there is no debate over who is number one.

“For me it’s clear, it’s Alisson,” he told Soccer AM. “He’s good at everything and his stats are also very good.

“He’s played a number of big games for Liverpool and for me it’s clear that he’s the best goalkeeper at the moment.”
