Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker thanks Co Fermanagh youngster for 'making my day'

Liverpool star Alisson Becker has thanked a Co Fermanagh youngster for making his day.

Reds fan Caiden Mulligan, 7, has been putting in some isolation training at his home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Caiden's father Shane posted a video on social media of his son performing some saves in his garden, reports Belfast Live.

In it the young shot-stopper says he wants to "be like Alisson Becker when I grow up".

Shane tagged Becker on Twitter, and the Liverpool keeper was first to reply with: "This video made my day!! Keep working my little friend!!"

It isn't the first time young Caiden has caught the attention of Becker.

The youngster became a viral hit last Halloween when he dressed up as the Reds goalkeeper, even going as far as drawing on a streamlined beard just like his football idol has.

Champions League winner Becker was so impressed that he shared the post on his official account.

"Caiden couldn't believe it when Alisson messaged back for a second time," Shane said.

"He is Liverpool mad and absolutely loves Alisson.

"Caiden goes over to watch Liverpool play about 15 times a season, home and away.

"He got James Milner's top one time Liverpool played away at Fulham, and then James signed it.

"It is great seeing footballers going out of their way for the kids."
