Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker explains the 'amazing' Jurgen Klopp moment he will cherish

Alisson Becker has revealed one very memorable moment he experienced with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp during a stellar 2018/19 campaign.

The Brazil goalkeeper was named in the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d'Or on Monday night alongside team-mates Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Gini Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

And speaking to FIFA.com ahead of the Club World Cup, which will be held in Qatar this December, Alisson explained the 'amazing moment'.

The shot-stopper told: "He’s a very authentic coach and really is the way he appears. He knows when to encourage players and when to be a little tougher.

"He’s a great motivator. His celebrations also help you release tension.

"For example, after our triumph against Everton, he bounded across the field and gave me a hug. It was an amazing moment."

Divock Origi scored a 96th minute winner against Liverpool's cross city rivals last December to hand the Reds a memorable last-gasp victory.

Klopp raced onto the field to celebrate with Alisson, and was later fined £8,000 by the Football Association for his actions.

The German coach apologised for his behaviour in a post-match interview, speaking after the game Klopp said: "I have to apologise because I didn't want to be disrespectful - but I couldn't stop myself.

"If I could describe how I felt when the goal went in, then I would have control over it. We don't want to look for excuses but that's how it is.

"The plan was not to run. When I chose to stop, I was close to Alisson. He was surprised."

Alisson was also asked whether he felt pressure when making the £65million move to Anfield from Roma in 2018.

"In football you always have to deal with pressure. Actually, I was only the [world’s] most expensive goalkeeper for two weeks!" He exclaimed.

"But I knew it was a very big transfer, something out of the ordinary. That generated huge external expectations, but I didn’t demand any more from myself than I normally would – which is already a lot, regardless of my transfer value.

"For me, the most important thing is always to give your very best to help the team."

The 27-year-old has also been nominated for France Football's new Yachine award, which will be presented to the continent's best goalkeeper at the end of year ceremony.
