Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker put his club rivalry aside to baptise Manchester United midfielder Fred's wife Monique Salum in an emotional ceremony.
The two players are teammates at international level for Brazil, and are both known to be devout Catholics, and are often seen praying on the pitch.
Alisson assisted in baptising Reds forward Roberto Firmino earlier this year, and did the same again in a swimming pool for Monique, helping dunk her under the water in the traditional manner.
She posted a video of the occasion on her Instagram, and a gospel singer accompanied her while Alisson appeared to be struggling to hold back his tears, with the 27-year-old seemingly overwhelmed with emotion.
Afterwards they all joined together in a hug, and Monique also posted a caption in Portuguese which translates to: "This day! The day that will always be marked in my heart and soul. The day of my encounter with Jesus Christ, where I felt his presence and felt that it was the most certain and importance choice in my life.
"I could not fail to thank my dear friends @natalialbecker and @alissonbecker who introduced me to life in Christ Jesus and with their testimonies has been transforming the lives of everyone around them, including mine!
"Thank you for making me feel true love. You are a blessing in our lives! Thank you God, for doing your works in my life. I serve you!"
Both Alisson and Fred are currently on their winter break, with Liverpool not due to play again until they take on Norwich on February 15 and United without a game until their huge clash with Chelsea on February 17.
The Liverpool shot-stopper has been in superb form recently, and has incredibly conceded just one goal in his last nine games in all competitions.
