Liverpool given Tottenham Hotspur Covid outbreak update ahead of Premier League clash

Liverpool’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday is looking likely to go-ahead following a Covid outbreak at the north London club.

Tottenham were hit by a number of cases last week and were not able to play their Europa Conference League match against Rennes and were advised to close their training base.

Spurs’ Premier League clash at Brighton last weekend was also postponed due to the Covid outbreak.

But the latest from the Liverpool ECHO's sister website, football.london, suggests their game away to Leicester City on Thursday will be given the green light.

With the reopening of the first-team areas at Tottenham's training ground, as well as some players returning to training following their isolations, optimism that the match at the King Power Stadium takes place has been raised as Liverpool wait in the wings.

The fixture on Sunday going ahead would be good news for the Reds as they don’t want any disruption to the fixture list given the fine form they find themselves in.
