Liverpool given Kylian Mbappe boost as he serves PSG 'transfer request'

Liverpool may have had the door opened for a future move to land Kylian Mbappe after the World Cup winner reportedly informed Paris Saint-Germain of his desire to leave.

The Times claim the 21-year-old has informed the Champions League finalists that he wants this to be his final season in the French capital.

The report also says that he is keen on either a move to La Liga in Spain or the Premier League.

Mbappe rejected advances from Manchester City and Real Madrid to sign for PSG from Monaco for a £165m fee in 2018, which represents the second-ever highest transfer fee in world football - behind only the signing of his teammate Neymar.

Upon his arrival in Paris, Mbappe signed a five-year deal that is still in place and, by the time next summer comes around, he will have two years remaining on his contract.

Earlier this year, Mbappe spoke about the 'ruthless' style that Jurgen Klopp has imprinted upon the Premier League champions.

"This season Liverpool have been a machine in the Premier League. They have made winning look easy - but the truth is that is never easy," he said.

"To be as ruthless as they have been would come from having a very good manager and lots of hard work in training. Performances like they have been having don't just happen."
