Adrian is set to continue in goal for Liverpool after the Reds ruled out signing any goalkeeper before the domestic transfer window closes on October 16.
With Alisson currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, the Spaniard came into Jurgen Klopp 's starting XI for Liverpool's 7-2 defeat against Aston Villa and was at fault for the Villans' opening goal.
Meanwhile, his performances have been the subject of outside scrutiny following costly errors in the Reds' Champions League and FA Cup exits to Atletico Madrid and Chelsea last season.
But with the ECHO understanding Liverpool have zero interest in signing a new goalkeeper following links with Stoke City shot-stopper Jack Butland, the 33-year-old is set to retain his place between the sticks for the Reds until his Brazilian team-mate's return.
Following Alisson's absence against Villa, Klopp confirmed he would definitely miss the Merseyside derby against Everton following the international break and could be out for as long as six weeks.
"No chance to play against Everton," he revealed. "We don’t know exactly. Let me say, it could have been worse with that injury, that’s for sure.
"We were slightly lucky but it’s not that he can play against Everton.
"I don’t want to put a timeframe on it but four weeks could be possible, six weeks is maybe more likely, but I don’t know.
"We have to assess this thing, that’s how it is."
Now a week into that predicted lay-off, Alisson could remain sidelined until the November international break and miss as many as even further Liverpool matches.
The Reds are next in action away at Everton on Saturday 17 October before they open their Champions League campaign away at Ajax on Wednesday 21 October.
Three successive home matches then follow against Sheffield United on Saturday 24 October, Midtjylland on Tuesday 27 October and West Ham United on Saturday 31 October.
If Alisson is only ruled out for four weeks, he is likely to be missing for all five matches.
However, if his absence extends to the six weeks Klopp predicted, he will also sit out away trips to Atalanta and Manchester City on Tuesday 3 November and Saturday 7 November respectively.
Following the final international break of the calendar year, Liverpool are back in action at home to Leicester City on Saturday 21 November.
And while Klopp was unwilling to put a definitive time-frame on Alisson's injury lay-off, should he avoid the need for surgery then Liverpool will be hopeful he can return to face the Foxes.
