Liverpool full list of ins, outs and contracts for the 2021/22 summer transfer window

A large number of Liverpool fans endured a frustrating deadline day, as they awaited new signings that never materialised.

There was still positive news, however, with captain Jordan Henderson signing a new four-year deal, ending speculation over his Reds future.

Henderson’s contract was another example of sporting director Michael Edwards ’ concerted efforts to tie down the nucleus of Jurgen Klopp ’s side.

Ibrahima Konate remained Liverpool ’s only signing of the window, with his £36m move from RB Leipzig ensuring the club averts the centre-back crisis that plagued them last season.

Gini Wijnaldum was the most high-profile departure from Melwood, as the Dutch midfielder ended his five-year stay to join PSG after failing to renew his contract. Xherdan Shaqiri was another significant squad member who sealed a £9.5m move to Lyon in August.

Elsewhere, Marko Grujic and Harry Wilson secured permanent deals away from the club, while Sepp van den Berg, Rhys Williams, and Leighton Clarkson will look to impress on loan in the Championship.
