Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold one of the world's best attackers, says Steve McManaman

Former Liverpool player Steve McManaman believes Trent Alexander-Arnold must be ranked at least alongside the world’s best full-backs.

The academy graduate – who has been instrumental in Liverpool’s attacking play this season – has received widespread praise after a stunning season.

Alexander-Arnold has scored two Premier League goals this season, also chipping in with 12 assists, bettered only by Kevin De Bruyne’s 16.

McManamum believes the 21-year-old’s stats speak for themselves, and claims he’s up there alongside the best in the world – in multiple positions.

In his column for HorseRacing.net, McManaman said: “I do think that he’s the best right-back in the world. When you look around the big European leagues, then he has to be the best doesn’t he?

“Trent is at least up there with the very best in the world - and also as an attacker as well!

“Principally, his job for Liverpool is that he’s an attacking full-back and an assist provider, so he’s certainly up there with the very best.”
