Liverpool freeze ticket prices at Anfield for fourth season in a row

Liverpool have today announced a freeze on ticket prices at Anfield for the fourth consecutive season.

The Reds are the latest Premier League club to have confirmed that the cost of both general admission and season tickets will not increase for the 2019-20 campaign, with Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United also doing so.

Liverpool will also continue to reserve a section of Anfield seating for each Premier League game to sell to local fans at just a cost of just £9 per ticket.

News of frozen pricing comes a month after Liverpool announced record pre-tax profits of £125million for the last financial year.

The decision owes much to concerted pressure from fan groups to keep ticket costs down in light of growing television revenues.

Supporters' union Spirit of Shankly have been a leading voice in that campaign and have engaged the club through its regular fans forums.

Following the announcement, SOS tweeted: “The minimum expectation for many but right thing to do.

“Ourselves and supporters on the forums have been clear throughout that we see a freeze as a minimum.”
