Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino told he poses no threat to opposing defence

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has been told he will pose no threat to the Nigeria defence on Sunday afternoon.

Brazil are in action against the Super Eagles in their latest friendly in Singapore.

Firmino has been in fine form for Liverpool so far this season and scored for his country in their 1-1 draw with Sadio Mane's Senegal on Thursday.

However, that hasn't impressed Nigeria's vice-captain William Troost-Ekong, who plays in Italy for Udinese.

And the centre-back is convinced Firmino, along with fellow forwards Neymar and Gabriel Jesus, will give his country few concerns.

“I am so happy be part of the players that will be facing Brazil in the international friendly encounter in Singapore,” Troost-Ekong said to soccernet.ng.

Blood Red: Is Roberto Firmino the best Brazilian to have graced the Premier League?

“We all know what the Brazilian team can do as witnessed in the game they played against Senegal and I am sure they will be eager to get a result against us.

“We have players who are as good as Neymar, Firmino, Jesus and Firminho in the Super Eagles.

"They will definitely pose no threat to us.”
