Liverpool fixtures for FIFA Club World Cup: The route to the final for Jurgen Klopp's men

Liverpool could meet Mexican side Monterrey in the semi-finals of the 2019 Fifa Club World Cup in December.

Jurgen Klopp's side will compete in the competition for the first time since 2005 after beating league rivals Tottenham in June's Champions League final.

Champions League winners enter the Club World Cup at the semi-final stage, where they will meet one of Monterrey, hosts Al-Sadd and New Caledonian side Hienghene Sport.

CONCACAF Champions League winners Monterrey are set to face the winners of Al-Sadd and Hienghene Sport in the quarter-final stage. The winner of that contest will go onto meet the Reds in the final four.

To confuse matters, however, a fourth side could still enter the equation.

Al-Sadd are still competing in the 2019 AFC Champions League and should they win that competition - with the final taking place in November - they will advance to the quarter-final stage of the Club World Cup on the other side of the draw to meet African champions Esperance Sportive De Tunis.

In that scenario, the AFC Champions League runners up will meet Hienghene Sport instead with the winner of that contest going onto meet Monterrey.

The 2019 Club World Cup final will take place on Sunday 22 December.
